Overwatch – Analysis of Bronze Rank – Solo Queue’d

Well, this one was quite a pickle to figure out but when you’re constantly in Bronze, you’ll have plenty of games to analyze through this, and some of these games, they’re just…a bit lackluster, it isn’t even funny. Here’s a few points to analyze:

  • Bronze Rank isn’t what you think between Silver, Gold, Platinum, or even Diamond for that matter. Some of these players within this rank are stuck there due to bad team composition and getting stuck with public queues all the time. This can also occur between 2 people groups all the way up to 5 people groups. Once a player decides to derank and annoy all allies with just playing away from keyboard and rejoining or just setting up a teleporter to send allies off the cliff.
  • Within Oversumo, a mobile app that can analyze your stats, I’ve been gradually checking it every so often. Oversumo Daily or Weekly Analysis says I should be mid-Gold to low-Platinum, yet I’m stuck in Bronze, because of queueing with bad teammates.
  • Before I installed a GTX 1050 TI into my current desktop computer, I was running Overwatch at about…6 Frame-Per-Second, which made the game unplayable.
  • Within my D.va post, I was doing that analysis for days, because of how bad my teammates were, how bad the healing was, or (when I was healing) said D.va player decides to melt within 1 second while healer was helping another teammate out.

Right now, as it stands, off yesterday’s analysis on Oversumo, my ranking for each character is:

  • Symmetra – Platinum I – 13 games played
  • Mercy – Platinum I – 12 games played
  • Mei – Diamond – 6 games played
  • Reinhardt – Silver – 2 games played
  • D.va – Platinum IV – 2 games played
  • Lucio – Bronze – 1 game played

Anyway, if you want, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Overwatch – D.va

Well, after the nerf, I’ve been looking into how to play D.va a bit differently on Overwatch, but now, I do have a final verdict on how to play her effectively:

  1. Instead of being the flanker, she’s now an anti-flanker, keeping both Supports alive as long as possible.
  2. Her Defense Matrix can help supports or any DPS that stays within the group from receiving damage from any oncoming attack by D.va standing right behind them and raising her Defense Matrix.

However, the days of D.va being the main tank instead of Reinhardt is no more. If you decide that D.va and Zarya combination is good, that’s fine, but someone would have to pick up the slack and pick up a third tank to fill in as a front line wall against any oncoming attack. 90% of the time or even more, I would swap from D.va to Reinhardt, because we don’t have that wall that would prevent us from dying.

Anyway, feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Borderlands 2 – Gaige Skill Set #1 – Part 1

In this discussion, each time I play through Borderlands 2, I’ll make the character slightly different. Here’s one of my current builds for Gaige, the Mechromancer.

  • Summon Deathtrap (1/1) – (Action Skill: Press F to summon Deathtrap to fight for you. Cooldown: 60 Seconds.)
  • Best Friends Forever
    • Close Enough (5/5) – Your bullets that hit walls or other objects have a chance to ricochet off toward a nearby enemy. Ricocheted bullets deal reduced damage (Bullet Ricochet Chance: +50%) (Ricocheted Bullet Damage: -50%)
    • Cooking Up Trouble (0/5) – While your gun’s Magazine is full, you regenerate health. (Next level: Regenerates 2.0% of your Max Health / second)
    • Fancy Mathematics (0/5) – Improve Shield Recharge Delay and Shield Recharge Rate based on how low your health is. The lower your health, the greater the bonus. (Next Level: Shield Recharge Delay: up to -14% and Shield Recharge Rate: up to -12%)
    • Buck Up (0/1) – Deathtrap Ability. Deathtrap restores the shields of one ally to full. (Next Level: Deathtrap restores 100% of an ally’s shield.)
    • The Better Half (6/5) – When your Magazine is past half-empty, you gain increased Fire Rate. (Current Level: Fire Rate +72%) (Next Level: Fire Rate +84%)
    • The rest of the abilities in this tree haven’t been unlocked as of yet.

I’m more or less separating this into 3 parts – Best Friends Forever, Little Big Trouble, and Ordered Chaos. I will also update this as time goes on, so if that happens, it’ll be Gaige Skill Set #2 with 3 parts as well. Anyway, if you want, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.
